Mike Gentile

MBA RRT FAARC FCCM

Mike Gentile has been involved with Respiratory and Critical Care for 30 years. Mr. Gentile is active in research, administration, teaching, and clinical practice. He has been awarded fellowships from the American Association for Respiratory Care and American College of Critical Care Medicine. Mike has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications, including abstracts, manuscripts, and textbook chapters. He has been involved in development and launch of multiple drugs and devices.

Douglas Kupas

MD

Douglas Kupas is an EMS and emergency physician with Geisinger Health System in central Pennsylvania. As a professor of emergency medicine, Dr. Kupas is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, and he completed his emergency medicine residency at Geisinger. He is Board Certified in EMS and has been a paramedic for over 40 years. His research and teaching interests include EMS safety, EMS airway management, and emergency resuscitation.

 

Shean E. Phelps

MD, MPH, FAAFP

Shean E. Phelps served for 30 years in various senior-level medic roles. After retiring, he accepted a senior position at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, serving as Technical Director of Health Systems research. He was the co‐founder and chief technology officer for the Atlanta-based pharmacogenetics startup company, Pro‐GeneX LLC prior to retiring in the fall of 2017. He now serves as a medical/technical advisor and subject matter expert for several companies seeking to advance medical technology, and as well continues to provide consultation services as an expert special operations military/medical witness for select law firms representing U.S. service members in a series of high profile class action foreign sovereign immunities act cases currently before the U.S. Federal Court.

Danny Theodore

MD

Danny Theodore is the Medical Director of Respiratory Therapy and the Associate Fellowship Director of the Anesthesia Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Virginia Health System. He specializes in critical care and neurocritical care. He is triple board-certified in anesthesiology, neurocritical care, and critical care medicine. Dr. Theodore is heavily involved in the Society of Critical Medicine as a member of the neurocritical care subcommittee and the respiratory care subcommittee. He is also currently the SCCM national representative for respiratory care and holds the title of Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. His current research interests are in traumatic brain injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome.

 

Kali Dayton

DNP, AGACNP

Kali Dayton is a critical care nurse practitioner, host of the Walking Home From The ICU podcast, and critical care outcomes consultant. She is dedicating her experiences in the “Awake and Walking ICU” and ICUs around the USA to elevate ICU sedation and mobility practices by working to align them with current research. She works with ICU teams internationally to transform patient outcomes through early mobility and management of delirium in the ICU.

Ashley Lachowicz

RRT, BA, MSRC

Ashley Lachowicz graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After four years of working in the mental health field, she started her degree in Respiratory Care. She graduated with a Master of Science in Respiratory Care from Rush University in 2016. After graduating, she briefly worked as a pediatric respiratory therapist from 2016-2019. She has worked for Rush since 2016, and have been an Adult Clinical Specialist since May of 2020. In September 2021, she joined the Medical Advisory Group to collaborate on using innovative devices and practices to help minimize and prevent unplanned extubations and improve airway safety.
